چکیده

Direct sequence spread spectrum with its inherent resistance to multipath is a promising technique for indoor wireless communication. To allow multiple users within a limited bandwidth, code division multiple access (CDMA) is needed. This correspondence analyzes the bandwidth efficiency of M-ary CDMA systems in fading multipath indoor radio channels. It is shown that M-ary signaling improves the bandwidth efficiency significantly as compared to binary signaling. N. M-ary equally likely data symbols are transmitted at a rate of one every T seconds. The signal transmitted by the kth user to send the pth symbol during the interval [0, 7) is

Performance evaluation of direct-sequence spread spectrum multiple-access for indoor wireless communication in a Rician fading channel

Abstracf-The bit error probability in a Rician fading channel is evaluated for indoor wireless communications considering Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum Multiple Access (DS/SSMA) with Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) modulation and two types of diversity: selection diversity and maximal ratio combining. The performance of the indoor radio system is also obtained in terms of outage probab...

Performance of DS-CDMA Over Measured Indoor Radio Channels Using Random Orthogonal Codes

Direct sequence spread spectrum, with its inherent resistance to multipath interference, has become a commercial reality for indoor wireless communications and has been proposed for personal communication networks. To allow multiple users within the limited bandwidths allocated by the FCC, codedivision multiple-access (CDMA) is needed. This paper analyzes the performance of CDMA systems using r...

Spread-Spectrum Multiple-Access Performance of Orthogonal Codes: Linear Receivers

This paper analyzes a direct-sequence, spread-spectrum, multiple-access (SSMA) communication system ‘which assigns a set of Morthogonal sequences to each user. With all direct sequence SSMA systems, K users share a channel by phase modulating their transmissions with signature sequences. However, the users of our system transmit log, M hits of information/sequence. This contrasts classical SSMA...

All-digital impulse radio with multiuser detection for wireless cellular systems

Impulse radio is an ultrawideband system with attractive features for baseband asynchronous multiple-access, multimedia services, and tactical wireless communications. Implemented with analog components, the continuous-time impulse radio multiple-access model utilizes pulse-position modulation and random time-hopping codes to alleviate multipath effects and suppress multiuser interference. We i...

Monte Carlo simulation of direct sequence spread spectrum for indoor radio communication in a Rician - Communications, Speech and Vision, IEE Proceedings I

A Monte Carlo simulation was conducted to assess the performance, in terms of bit error probability, of a direct sequence spread spectrum multiple access (DS/SSMA) radio system in indoor Rician fading channels using differential phase shift keying (DPSK). Simulation results are presented for a DSjSSMA indoor radio system using selection diversity. Importance sampling techniques were used to acc...
